Fire Science Technology

This program prepares you to perform the duties of fire fighters. This includes instruction in fire-fighting equipment operation and maintenance, principles of fire science and combustible substances, methods of controlling different types of fires, hazardous material handling and control, fire rescue procedures, public relations and applicable laws and regulations.

How to apply

  1. Become a Palo Verde Pirate! We offer career and academic pathways designed to help you achieve your goals.

  2. Before applying to college, you must first have an OpenCCC account.

    *OpenCCC is a service of the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office.
    This account allows you to access the online services of the California Community Colleges.
    All information in your account is private and secure.

  3. Complete your online orientation

    Orientation is mandatory unless you’ve received an exemption from your counselor. Start here.

  4. Request Transcripts

    Request your OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS from previous colleges attended. You will need to fill out a TRANSCRIPT EVALUATION FORM, if you would like to transfer coursework from another school to Palo Verde College.

  5. Self Placement

    All students now can enroll in transfer-level English and math. We recommend that you speak with a counselor before registration. Counselors can provide a multiple measures review of your preparation for transfer-level work. They can also inform you about the particular courses that are required to meet your goal.

  6. Register for classes

    Students may register for classes on or after their online Registration Appointment. Start here to register.
