Nearly 350 people attended the Inland Empire/Desert Regional Consortium (IEDRC) Counselor Conclave on Feb. 24 at the Riverside Convention Center.
The annual event brings together K12 and community college counselors to learn innovative strategies to support students and to practice self-care.
Dr. Laurie Scolari, Vice President of Student Services at Foothill College in Los Altos, delivered an engaging keynote, “Authenticity Unleashed: Reconnecting Counselors with Their Inner Spark.” The keynote explored how authenticity in the workplace can help counselors feel more engaged, fulfilled, and connected to their vital work with students. Scolari discussed how embracing self-care, self-love, and spiritual connection can combat burnout and reignite passion for counseling.
